Benefits To Be Gained From Dog Boarding

By Annabelle Holman

Dogs are one of the most beloved domesticated animals. For years people and dogs have always shared that special bond. Canines help people in a lot of ways. They are expert guardians, they keep watch over the sheep in the olden times, and they watch over homes at present. They cheer one up. It is always said that one of the truest forms of happiness comes with a wet nose and a wagging tail, and dog lovers could not help but agree.

For this reason, most dog lovers do not even regard their pooches as pets. They see them as family. They really spend time, money, and effort just to make sure that they get food, water, and safe environment to live in. They bring their furry pals on vacations, or leave them in the care of apt professionals at dog boarding dc.

A dog boarding employs the same principle as having a house sitter when you go on an away trip for the holidays. You can either have the sitter come over to watch your pet and your house, or you can bring your dog over to the environment where the sitter is in. The first works pretty well when the person you have in mind is someone you really know, such as a best friend or a sibling. Some who live far away from family and most friends often choose the second option.

For these owners, in home boarding should be the best option. It is very much similar to house sitting which everyone is so familiar to. You can either allow your pet sitter to house sit your home at the same time, or bring your mutt over to the home environment of the sitter.

There are many advantages of choosing boardings over the former, too. For one, though the staff are both pros in the said field, boarding staff tend to be warmer. They are genuine pooch lovers, so they do not really mind playing and cuddling with your pets. In fact, they really do not mind spending time with them at all. Not that the ones at a kennel do not love canines, they are just far too busy for a little playful banter.

A kennel does not tell you anything while you are out, but a sitter will. In fact, she will give you updates from time to time. She can even send you photos and videos of your pooch having fun or resting, if you really want to.

Dogs at boarding also get more attention. Kennels have far too many canines yet very few people, which means one staff member is asked to handle as much as twenty or even more. Sitters, on the other hand, handle three at most, thus ensuring that any problem concerning your dog is easily seen and corrected.

Kennels do not allow for much exercise. This could be one of the many reasons why dogs hate these places, especially those who are used to walking around freely. Making him stay at a boarding facility will give him all the exercise and play he can get.

Most owners feel that it is best to just bring your pets when you go on a vacation. They keep the kids occupied, and they would love the new experience, too. If circumstances do not allow for this, however, then leaving them with a sitter is the next best thing.

  1. Thanks for the information on dog boarding. My wife and I love to travel but we always feel bad about leaving our pet behind. Perhaps dog boarding would be a good option. Then he would have people to play with and activities to do to keep him out of trouble.
