Adopting Beautiful Teacup Poodles In Dallas TX

By Shawn Hunter

Every potential new pet owner will be looking for very different characteristics in their new canine companion. Each breed possesses a unique set of personality and character traits so it is important for interested individuals to do a bit of preliminary research in order to find the best match. When looking for tiny dogs in Dallas, TX, teacup poodles may be a great option

This grouping is a completely unofficial size category for this type of dog. It is a title given to puppies who are extremely small, usually weighting no more than four pounds and being six inches from the floor to shoulder. As far as the American Kennel Club is concerned, all of these are still classified as belonging to the Toy subset.

Because of their friendly nature and extraordinary intelligence, this breed is a highly desired choice for household pet. They tend to be extremely tolerant of children and other animals and while it is uncommon for them to display outright aggression, they can be both protective and possessive of their family. Biting and physical attacks are nearly unheard of but they will bark loud and constant.

A condition referred to as small dog syndrome is common among these tiny pups when the humans involved with them do not exert their dominance. They have natural leadership tendencies because of their elevated intelligence so if the Alpha position seems to be vacant, they will quickly jump into it despite their diminutive size. Both the adults and children need to give commands firmly and with confidence if they expect to have the animal's respect.

Their appearance is easily recognizable as they have long been the symbols of society, fashion, and circus fun. They have curly hair that is quite cloud like and often groomed in cuts that feature puffs on their foreheads, ears, chests, ankles, hips and at the tip of the tails. When they stand, they hold their heads high in a very confident manner with their backs straight, and tail pointed up, giving them a boxed shape.

There are many different colors that may appear on their coats. Solid dogs may be mostly uniform tones of white, black, silver, gray, brown, blue, red, champagne and cafe' au lait. The multi-hued groups of Abstract, Parti and Tuxedo all feature two or more arranged in specific patterns or conditions.

Easy training is one thing that makes this a very attractive breed to many potential pet owners. The animals are eager to learn and take commands quickly, executing them with great proficiency. This strong obedience tendency is one thing that made them desirable in a variety of fields such as personal companions, retrieval specialists, performers and as service canines.

Puppies this small are not meant to be kept outside unattended though they are great for small homes and apartments as long as they are given daily supervised walks and play sessions. Anyone interested in taking one of these as their pet should be aware that they are extremely social and require a lot of personal attention. Having a general knowledge about the needs and characteristics of the breed one is considering, will make the transitions easier on all concerned.
