Tips On Training War Dogs

When you first meet a dog you want to build trust so that a bond can formed. It is essential for training. Dogs have shown their patriotism over the years but their efforts are yet to be fully recognized. Usually, war dogs are thoroughly trained to think like a soldier in the battlefield. These dogs could be tasking to train since they have to respond to non-verbal communication.

Different training lessons have different cost depending on the skills a dog needs to learn. It is expensive to train military dogs. In most countries government has set aside training grounds and pay the trainers who charge a lot money. Be consistent during the training process. Look for an area with no distractions if you want it to be attentive.

You need to take them to that place as many times as possible for it to understand that is the training area. It would make it easy for you since every time you get to that spot the dog will be obedient. It knows it is time for training and enjoys being there. Maintain a nice relationship for the dog not to feel like it is a chore but enjoys the moment instead.

Let the dog respect you and be patient with the training lessons. The last thing a trainer can do is to expect a dog to grasp all commands in one day. In case they do not understand a command do not overact. Be calm and repeat the action over and over until they get it. Respect is not earned from the food and attention you get them. It is from how well you protect them from danger.

You need to show authority and leadership when telling a dog to do some exercises. One must take charge because dogs are non-verbal. They will not talk just responding. Sometimes this becomes hard for humans and they get tired when a dog does not respond to a given command. A trainer needs to remember what matters is their actions not their words.

Appreciation is essential during the training period. It motivates the dog to have the urge to learn more. Treat them with nice meal or their favourite game after a successful training day. When a dog does the desired behaviour mark it in a certain sound that they can understand and keep doing better. Let them understand that the sound you make gives them a reward afterwards.

In case a dog misbehaves during training you should punish it accordingly. Most training camps are against punishing them but it is just like you would discipline a child. However it should not be brutal and emotional. Make the dog understand what they did was wrong without screaming or whipping them. Let them know you angry click.

Exercising and eating a well-balanced diet contributes positively towards mental growth. It helps the dog grasp quickly the lessons being taught and be ready to go for war. During the deployment period most dogs get stressed therefore during training lessons teach it how to relate with different people. They should be respected as they are the future law enforcers.
