Find A Pomeranian For Sale

By Carolyn Kelly

Small and fragile on the first sight, but also brave, honest and so beautiful, Pomeranian dogs make lovely family pets. If you are interested in buying one of these lovely little things, you will probably find a Pomeranian for sale at some good breeder somewhere close to your place of living, because these dogs are really popular and highly appreciated.

With his pricked ears, curled tail and characteristic attitude, this funny little thing will bring so much pleasure to your lonely days. He is affectionate and playful, obedient when it comes to his owner, but not so respectful when it comes to other people, especially when he meets them on his own territory.

Small, so called toy dogs, have a common characteristic. They tend to become hard to manage, if you allow this to happen. The only way to teach toy breeds to behave properly is to train them very early. All dogs need a pack leader, a boss, and toy breeds will gladly take this position if you don't do it.

Sometimes it is easier said than done. Puppies are so lovely, so adorable, and it is so hard to deny anything to them. It's important to set some rules, and to stick to these rules every single time. Consistency is really important part of this training process, without it, you will just make your pet confused.

Pomeranian would like to be a guard dog, by all means. He will be alerted and notify you about people approaching your home, usually by barking. Well, constant barking might become a real problem. Start dealing with barking right away, when your puppy is still very young. It will be difficult to sort out later on.

Long double coat requires regular brushing and combing. This dog is a constant shedder, and soft, shorter undercoat sheds twice a year. Regular vet checks and checking their eyes and ears on daily basis are also needed. They might have problems with hips, eyes and skin, but not so often as with some other purebreds.

Avoid bathing if you can. Dry shampooing is always much better option. These small dogs are under three kilograms and come in various lovely colors and color combinations, for example, red, white, tan, brown, black, wolf sable and orange. All color variations usually have almond sized dark eyes.

Considering the fact these dogs are really small, they might not be the best companions for small children. When they are still puppies, they should be kept away from children, because puppies are so fragile, and kids could harm them easily, simply sitting on them or playing with them.

Pomeranian is just perfectly suited for apartment living. Although this small breed doesn't require too much exercise, one easy walk a day is something he needs to stay healthy and satisfied. It would be great to have a fenced yard for him to run and train unleashed, but he still needs to be under supervision. Larger animals might harm him, or he could do it by himself.
