How To Pick A Perfectly White Pomeranian

By Pamela Lee

Pomeranian dogs are small, but bold and simply adorable. They come in various lovely colors, including red, black, blue, brown and different color combinations. Nevertheless, the rarest and the most beautiful are certainly those white Pomeranian puppies, with their dark eyes and snowy white, fluffy hair. There are really hard to breed successfully, and you need to know some things before choosing your puppy.

In any case, you really have to be sure this breeder is respectable and dependable. This is the only way to be sure how your new puppy will look like when he grows up. This can be seen when the puppy has at least eight weeks, not before. But you can look for some things by yourself, just to make sure.

The hair has to be perfectly white on all parts of your dog's body. Possible shades of different color may be noticed on some areas when they are still very young, for example, behind their ears. If you can see even the slightest discoloration there, it is a sign that there will be changes of color when the dog is older. All Pomeranian puppies change color shade slightly when they grow up, darker become slightly lighter and vice versa.

Of course, you want to have perfectly white dog. Another thing you should check is the color of his eye rims, paw pads, nose and lips. Only black is allowed here. His eyes should be almond shaped, very dark brown or black. It's interesting, but whites with slight color shades usually have lighter eye rims and noses, and even their eyes will be little lighter.

When you find one good breeder, ask to see the parents of your new puppy. They should be not only perfectly white, but also well trained, healthy and well behaved. Behavior characteristics may not be inherited, but physical certainly will be, and you want your new puppy to be healthy and perfect in every single way.

How will your new pet behave when he grows up depends mainly on how you will train him. Toy breeds tend to become hard to manage if you spoil them, and it's hard not to spoil them because they are so adorable and tiny. Anyway, instead of having a perfect pet, you might end up having a little barking monster one day, if you don't set up some rules timely.

Pomeranian dogs are really fragile, especially puppies. They are so small and helpless, and you have to supervise them all the time. They might seriously hurt themselves if they fall from the sofa, for example. Playing with toddlers is not a very good idea, or with smaller children. Grown up dogs are not so sensitive, but this breed should still have responsible company.

Regular daily brushing and combing will keep your puppy's coat in perfect condition. It doesn't take much time and effort, if you do this regularly. Besides, Pom sheds, and this way you will keep your home tidy as well. Buy good quality canine wipes and clean your dog's face and paws with them. Eyes should be cleaned regularly, to avoid tear stains.
