The Worst Dog Food Brands On The Market

By Eula Nichols

Adopting a pet comes with many responsibilities. It's not just about getting a pet, but more like growing the family. The fact is, with children, they grow into adults and become completely independent, but that's not so when it comes to puppies. Our canine friends have ultimately been compared to two-year-old children for their entire lives, meaning a great and continual responsibility for the owners. Numerous factors must be considered when adopting a puppy, getting with nutrition. Some people don't realize that the worst dog food brands can actually have a huge impact on their pets.

Just as nutrition is crucial for good health in people, the same is true when it comes to providing a puppy with all the necessary nutrients to grow into a healthy adult. That said, this can only be achieved through the ingesting of top-notch ingredients. It is these nutrients that will maintain their optimum health and longevity.

Of course, it doesn't end there, as exercise is a huge factor when it comes to health. The same is true for human beings who need to exercise and move about to maintain good health. The bottom line is that both humans and dogs alike must get their exercise, get their rest, and eat right.

Having said that, there are differences between canines and humans, with regards to the nutrient demands. Each must meet those demands accordingly, for obvious reasons. With dog food, just as with humans, there are lots of choices, each one trying to attract the attention of the consumer. However, one must never go by price, and must instead, put lots of careful thought into the purchase. Every blend and every manufacturer is different.

Those that are extremely inexpensive should be the ones that sound the alarms. Manufacturers that sell their blends for double or triple the cost don't do so for unknown reasons. The fact remains, the more expensive brands usually have that are quality ingredients in them, and he inexpensive ones may be questionable.

One could say that the foods can be compared to those that people eat. For instance, if someone ate junk or processed foods three times a day, they will end up suffering the consequences. To begin with, they will definitely put on weight, which could lead to stressing vital organs, and deterioration, followed by the development of disease.

Well, it's pretty much the same thing for dogs. The cheaper economy-sized bags usually are extremely processed and lack greatly in vital nutrients that are necessary for optimum health. These are often made with fillers to keep the pets full, but they put them at risk of developing disease, gaining weight, and possibly reduce their lifespans.

Unfortunately for pet owners who really care about their companions, the worst dog food brands have even been found to contain dangerous ingredients, and not meant for ingestion. Some of these popular manufacturers shifted their production plants abroad in an effort to increase profits, by cutting costs. That effort certainly backfired when these discoveries were made. Pet owners were left wondering what impact it may have had on their companions. Certainly, eating too much of the inferior brands will have an impact, possibly increasing visits to the veterinarian and thus, increasing expenses.
