If you're looking for a loyal, energetic, eager to please companion, take a look at Yellow Labrador puppies for sale. This breed is great with children, the elderly, and other dogs. This social and intelligent breed makes a great family pet for active families with time to exercise and play with their canine companion. Labs need strong pack leadership to keep their boisterous nature under control.

Labs are friendly, energetic, loyal, eager to please, and intelligent. They're happy go lucky puppies. They train easily but mature slowly. They remain playful and young at heart even in their senior years.

Yellow Labradors have brown eyes and black noses. Sometimes the nose turns pinkish with age, a pigmentation change, nothing to worry about. Males weight 65-80 lbs, females 55-70 lbs. For a large dog, they have a long lifespan of 10-12 years. The almost waterproof coat is smooth, short, and dense. Labs shed seasonally.

If you don't start training right away, your large and strong adult Lab will drag you down the street on walks, jump on you and your guests, knock you over running past you on the stairs. Take advantage of their intelligent eager to train nature with early obedience training.

Labs are a healthy breed with few genetic diseases to worry about. Like all large breeds, they sometimes develop hip or elbow dysplasia in their senior years. A few hereditary eye diseases plague this breed. Parent dogs should be tested for eye problems before breeding.

The St John's Water dog worked alongside the fishermen in Newfoundland, Canada. This amazing dog would jump into the freezing waters to pull in nets. Brought to England around 1800, it was crossbred with Spaniels, Setters, and Retrievers to develop hunting and retrieving skills.

Labs are extremely intelligent with an excellent sense of smell. They enjoy holding objects in their mouth and are naturally gentle with objects held in their mouth. These traits make this breed a sought after candidate for guide dogs, search and rescue, service dogs, therapy dogs, law enforcement detection work, tracking, hunting, carting, agility, field trial competitions, and obedience competitions.

Labs need at least an hour of exercise everyday. They're not great off leash due to excitability and sociability. They can easily wander off and get lost. Instead let your energetic pup enjoy a romp at the dog park. Labs also love hiking, swimming, agility, games of fetch and flyball.

A bored Lab will playfully chew and carry furniture, paper, anything it can find. They may climb or dig to relieve boredom. They're voracious eaters of anything in sight including paper, paper towels, even the baby wipes. Care is required to create a safe environment where they can't overeat and eat dangerous non edibles.

Health is a combination of genetics, nutrition, exercise, and overall care. Parent dogs should be AKC registered and health tested. Puppies should visit the vet for an exam, vaccinations, and de-worming before they're released to their new home. Ask about a health guarantee and return policy. Ask what has been done to socialize the puppies.

Providing physical and psychological care for this active, sociable dog is a 10-12 year commitment. If you work long hours away from home this isn't the breed for you. Yellow Labrador puppies for sale are great with kids and other dogs as long as they get plenty of exercise. They need to be members of the family. They don't enjoy alone time.
