Socialization & 3 Pointers For Your Cat, By Assisi Animal Health

By Paula Hess

When it comes to social behavior, I'm not too sure how many people would associate cats with such a term. Yes, there are many cats who seem to be outwardly happy to see humans and other animals but others may be more distant by comparison. This is why it's important for your cat to become social, which is a point that Assisi Animal Health will be able to agree with as well. In order for this to be done, here is a list of 3 tips you would be wise to look into.

Assisi Animal Health will tell you that new stimuli should never be forced upon a pet, especially one that is so young. New experiences are scary for them and the act of forcefully bringing them into situations like these will not be able to breed the best results. If anything, this effort might result in your cat becoming more antisocial by comparison, which is a problem to say the least. In order to encourage social behavior, smaller rewards may prove helpful.

Comforts are going to have to be seen as well. Your cat is going to wind up spending a tremendous amount of time socializing but in order for this to be done with a lesser level of fear, certain comforts must be set in place beforehand. The food that your young cat typically eats and the litter box used from day to day may have to be utilized. Along with a few of their favorite toys, the growth of social behavior will undoubtedly be made less taxing.

As your young kitten starts to truly explore new situations, make sure that you are present. Even if your pet seems comfortable enough exploring their new surroundings, they may still require you for one reason or another. This is especially true if there are multiple individuals in the same room, not many of them immediately recognizable to your pet. Your presence helps to make this process easier, though, and you should not overlook it by any means.

No one can argue with the fact that cats can be raised to become social, provided the right actions are set in place. Even though the assistance of Assisi Animal Health has a tremendous amount of worth, there are other actions which can be taken on the part of pet owners. They are the ones who are responsible for everything, from play time to meals. However, social behavior is another crucial point for owners of cats not to ignore.
