The milk also has high protein content when compared to milk from other goat breeds. The milk is useful in making of products such as soap due to its high butterfat content. There are some standards governing breed conformity of these animals just like in the other goat and animal breeds. For example, the body is expected to have a balanced proportion with the ears being upright and a straight nose. They possess soft coats with medium to short hair. They are allowed to have a combination of colors or plain colors.

When one is raising these animals, it is important to keep then in a clean pen. The pen should be free from drafts, dampness, and pests such as rodents and flies. There small size also makes it necessary to put up adequate fencing. Any large gaps in the fencing can allow them to get through and stray off.

For better health, they have to be raised in a well-ventilated building. They do not need so much space compared to other animals. It is essential to provide some form of entertainment when raising them to avoid boredom. One can entertain them by providing large cable spools, rocks or tree trumps.
