For all organism in this world to survive, vegetable is necessary for even the smallest organism. In the thousands of years that passed, human beings need for food seems to grow then ever before. Compared to most animals that eat and hunt on instinct alone, man meets three meals a day depending on the feeling of hunger or desire of consuming as a whole.

With the population growing to even large amounts, the rate in gathering has slowed and the need for more increased by the centuries. Eventually man sought out a method called GMO and its counter part being NonGMO Grain Connecticut. These methods were invented to help in production methods and create more crops using the power of science with it.

GMO or Genetically modified organism, are organism that are results of genetic and biological engineering. These are done by humans in order to get a desired trait or to make something more resistant to certain diseases and keep livestock and crops healthy and alive until they are harvested or slaughtered for food and others.

The first case of human genetic manipulation started with domesticating plants and animals by using a method known as artificial selection. This process involved breeding animals and plants that have a trait that is desired so that those two positive traits be passed down to the next generation of organism and those that lack the desired trait will is not allowed to breed.

This method had become a precursor to later modern methods that are soon to discovered for food altering. These sort of processes were done for thousands of years until the thing known as DNA was made known as a discovery in 1990s. The discovery of animals DNA and plant DNA as well, lead to newer concepts to genetic modification. The techniques became quite advanced and soon being able to alter the DNA and genes directly became possible.

With that discovery, 1983 came and the first genetically modified crop was created. The tobacco plant was altered with the use of antibiotic resistances given to it, making it far more resistant to virus that may rot it prematurely. Enzymes were placed within vegetables to enhance them and for them to be produced. These have been approved for use as well.

During 1990, a recombinant chymosin was chosen and approved for use for several countries to use. With the use of enzyme that has complex rennet, cheese that was extracted from a cows stomach linings. Some scientist have bacteria modified in order to produce the chymosin. The chymosin will also clot the milk and results in cheese curbs be made.

On 1994, a tomato was introduced. This tomato had been genetically engineered with calgene in order to have a much longer shelf life. The tomato, called Flavr Savr, was approved and it became the first genetically made vegetable that was released and official approved by the FDA. The special thing was that it ripening process was delayed to give it a longer time and not rot.

The first country to ever commercialize transgenic crop was China. In 1993 it introduced to the public of virus resistant tobacco. It has been researched that GMOs pose no risk in consuming them and so long as it is within FDA policies and approved, there should be no problems at all.
