Are There Better-Looking Customized Dog Tags?

By Octavio Ureno

I was wondering in case you share the identical dilemma as myself 5 months back?

You see. I failed to find any exclusive or good-looking customized dog tags anyplace - online or offline!

The search mission for any better-looking tag started when my girlfriend, Alice bought a brand new Chihuahua pup - Misty. Whilst looking to get a dog tag, she complained to me that the majority of the dog tags available are both also ordinary and really boring hunting...

"C'mon, there must be better-looking ones..." I assured her confidently and went on the web to appear for a single.

To my surprise, I can not discover any! All of the tags I identified on-line are deemed boring and not distinctive at all... at least based on her regular.

I even went to the local pet shops - the dog tags you can find not any better, if not worse. Ordinary engraved dog tags - I guess they must have been about for a minimum of 15 years. And they nonetheless appear the identical right now. Wonderful!!!

Ok, I admit. I did discover some good-looking customized dog tags online - you can find some high-end ones, such as sapphire, real silver, gold, and even diamond embedded dog tags. But seriously, I'm just not ready to spend hundreds on a dog tag! I'll rather devote the cash on better grooming services or perhaps on her food.

I'm searching for one thing inside the variety of possibly 10-20 dollars maximum.

two days later... I gave up. I basically can not find any! I decided to custom make a single for Misty - to keep Alice satisfied obviously. ;-)

Together with the assist of a friend, Lee who is in the plaque company and with his (trade secret) coating technique, I can basically put any artwork, graphic as well as image onto the tag. I went on to design Misty's personalized dog tag.

Employing the idea of a newborn baby permit I saw on the web, a good-looking (newborn pet permit) tag with Alice's get in touch with details and Misty's image was produced.

Alice was happy when she saw the tag. It was distinctive, personalized, and among its kind. It was special, just like her pup - Misty.

But... her happiness didn't last extended. The tag was not scratch-resistant! The design started to peel off slowly. It was good-looking... but not functional.

Frustrated but not about to offer up, (seriously, I don't have any solution at all then) Lee then coated the tag with his company's patented protective coating.

Problem solved! Misty's customized dog tag is now scratch-resistant and anti-tarnish (image will not turn yellowish over time) due to the coating. It was even better-looking now! Because the coating leaves the tag having a lovely glossy finished.

8 weeks of investigation and development (certainly a lot longer if with no my Lee's support, this article may makes it look simple... trust me. its not.), close to a thousand dollars spent. A good-looking, highly personalized dog tag was born.

"Was it worth all of the work?" If you ask me, I seriously do not possess the answer.

But I admit I did understand a lot from this experience... and of course in the method Dogcustomer.com was born. I'll leave that story to one more day.

My stand is that Misty won't really feel the distinction in between wearing a traditional engrave dog tag or perhaps a highly personalized good-looking dog tag. Only Alice will... and only Alice will recognize why she desires that...
