No one would have ever thought that Japan added several canine species in the long list of dog breeds that we have today. Because of the exposure in their viral internet videos and sentimental movies, Shiba Inu dogs have become some of the world's favorite. It is to no surprise that their popularity can even give rise to many Shiba Inu breeders in Missouri.

One might wonder how this dog looks like. To give you an idea, a Shiba Inu is similarly close to the appearance of a fox. It is a small canine with a compact muscled body. Its double coat is something one would notice immediately. The outer coat is aligned and firm with colors of either red, black, or white. Its undercoat, on the other hand, is soft and thick that has a color of cream to gray.

Aside from the fact that you do not need to groom then regularly, these dogs do not consume too much dog food because of its small stature. It also does not drool a lot. It does not bark a lot unless they deem it necessary. However, you will know when it is unhappy because of its popular Shiba scream. It is a distinct sharp cry they produce which could be embarrassing to your neighbors.

Like all other dog breeders, you need to be mindful in taking care of its health. These descents are expected to live for 12 to 15 years. Surprisingly, the oldest dog ever recorded last December 2011 was a Shiba Inu who died at the age of 26. Its lifespan must have lengthened from regular walks as research suggest.

In your area, always look for a veterinary doctor who you can rely on. Have your dog checked regularly and make sure to keep a complete list of its needed vaccinations. Make sure that the doctor sees you as a dog lover that just a customer on whom he can profit.
