When you're looking for a pet, there are a lot of factors to consider. You want to be sure this pet will fit in with your lifestyle, living situation, and schedule. Goldendoodle puppies have proven to be great pets for many people.

The Goldendoodle is a hybrid dog. It is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. Its size can vary depending on a number of factors including the size of its parents. This breed can range in size from miniature to large.

The smaller end of this breed is considered a toy dog. It weighs as little as 15 lbs. At the larger end you can find Goldendoodles weighing over 100 lbs. That being said, you must decide if you have room and time for a large dog. They need plenty of space to run around and would need to be taken out for at least an hour a day. On the other hand, the miniature can get plenty of exercise running around the house.

Goldendoodles comes in many different colors. This, again, depends on the parents, but generally the color can vary from tan, chocolate, gold, cream, black or a mix of any of these colors. Their coats can vary as well. While they can take after their Poodle parent and have a tightly curled coat, they can also take after their Golden Retriever heritage and have a silky soft coat. Of course, it can also have a coat anywhere between silky and tightly curled often resulting in a wavy look.

Goldendoodle don't shed much if at all so they are excellent for those with allergies. They are also easier to clean after since they don't shed much. Goldendoodles are known for their high intelligence and friendliness.

Goldendoodles make great guide dogs due to their high intelligence and kind temperament. They don't do well living outdoors as they are companion dogs and love their people.

Puppies are naturally social because they are a pack animal. It's important to lovingly expose your puppy to people, sounds, car rides and other animals so that puppy will feel comfortable. When choosing your puppy you may want to avoid overly shy puppies as a puppy in fear is more likely to bite. You also want to avoid the bully of the litter as he may have dominance issues and won't train easily.

Because this is a cross breed there may be health problem that can't be predicted. Of course, they may be susceptible to the health problems of Golden Retrievers and Poodles, but mixing breeds create a genetic diversity that may actually lower the chance of suffering from the health problems of their parents. Then again, they may pose new health problems.

Be sure to use a breeder that is careful and does genetic disease screening before breeding dogs. This will ensure the health of your puppy. There are health problems you can prevent. Obesity can cause many health issues so don't over or under feed your dog and make sure he gets plenty of exercise.

Early training and socialization, lots of love and good nutrition will make Goldendoodle puppies the best pups you've ever had.
